Legendary Scottish indie pop band Belle and Sebastian will return to China in 2026 for a special 30th Anniversary Show in Shanghai, presented by Resonate Cities. Celebrating the 30th anniversaries of their debut album Tigermilk and the critically acclaimed If You’re Feeling Sinister, the band will perform with a nine-piece lineup, featuring music from If You’re Feeling Sinister alongside highlights from across their celebrated catalogue.

Originally released in 1996, Tigermilk introduced Belle and Sebastian’s distinctive musical identity, while If You’re Feeling Sinister, released just five months later, went on to become one of the defining albums of indie pop. Awarded a perfect 10.0 by Pitchfork and widely recognised by publications including Rolling Stone and NME, the album remains a landmark recording in alternative music.

Founded by Stuart Murdoch, Belle and Sebastian are renowned for their intimate songwriting, understated vocals, and richly textured arrangements that blend acoustic guitars, strings, and brass. Their music has earned a devoted global following through its thoughtful portraits of everyday life, youth, loneliness, and human connection, establishing the band as one of the most influential names in indie music over the past three decades.

As the band continues to tour internationally, the Shanghai performance marks a special milestone in their 30th anniversary celebrations, offering Chinese audiences a rare opportunity to experience one of indie music’s most enduring and beloved live acts.
