Resonate Cities is proud to present the first-ever China tour of American synthwave duo The Midnight. Taking place in January 2026, the tour will visit Beijing on 18 January and Shanghai on 20 January at MODERN SKY LAB, marking the band’s first-ever headline performances in China.

Formed in 2012 by singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle and producer Tim McEwan, The Midnight have become one of the defining names in modern synthwave. Blending nostalgic 1980s-inspired production with cinematic soundscapes and emotional storytelling, the duo have built a devoted global following through releases including Days of Thunder, Endless Summer, and the acclaimed trilogy Kids, Monsters, and Heroes.

The band’s live performances reached a new level with the addition of saxophonist Justin Klunk in 2021. His dynamic stage presence and soaring saxophone performances have become an essential part of The Midnight’s immersive live experience, earning praise from audiences around the world.

The China tour will also showcase music from the band’s latest album, Syndicate, which the duo describe as the culmination of their creative journey to date and the beginning of an exciting new chapter. More tour information will be announced soon.
