British alternative pop band Glass Animals have announced their first-ever China tour, bringing the band to Beijing, Shanghai, and Chengdu for their debut performances in the country. The tour follows the release of the new single Tokyo Drifting, marking the band’s first new music in three years and one of their first Asian runs since returning.

Formed in Oxford in 2010, Glass Animals consists of vocalist and producer Dave Bayley, guitarist Drew MacFarlane, bassist Edmund Irwin-Singer, and drummer Joe Seaward. Blending alternative pop, electronic music, hip-hop, and psychedelic influences, the band established its distinctive sound with the 2014 debut album ZABA. Their second album, How to Be a Human Being, further expanded their creative vision and earned widespread acclaim, leading to appearances at major international festivals including Coachella and Glastonbury.

Released after a three-year hiatus, Tokyo Drifting continues the band’s exploration of hip-hop and alternative pop while featuring American rapper Denzel Curry. The single marks the beginning of a new chapter for Glass Animals and offers a first glimpse of their latest creative direction.

The China tour will feature music from ZABA, How to Be a Human Being, and the newly released Tokyo Drifting, giving audiences their first opportunity to experience Glass Animals’ acclaimed live performance in China.
